Medical Mathematics
Medical mathematics is an important part of the health professions. Dosage calculations (e.g. oral medications, parenteral medications, insulin, heparin), dimensional analysis, and properly interpreting topics such as intravenous flow rate and solution strength will be a couple of topics that will be covered here.
Although medical mathematics is a little more straightforward than the standard college level mathematics course, it still requires critical thinking and problem solving. In order to prepare students, I begin with a thorough review of foundational level mathematics (order of operations, fractions, decimals, measurements, etc.) and then advance to the main topics.
